Cognitive walkthrough

Translation into plain English Website testing

Perpetrator UK Government Digital Service

Usage example “During a cognitive walkthrough, a user researcher assesses a service or website against a known set of user goals.”

Lucy’s commentary A cognitive walkthrough offends not just through ugliness, but because it fails to describe what is going on. Website testing is something that you do sitting on your bottom in front of a screen - there is no walking involved. Neither is there much cognition called for.
