Go and be successful somewhere else

Translation into plain English You're fired

Perpetrator Overheard — unnamed CEO to his COO

Usage example “Brad, you’re great, we like everything you’ve done and we’d like you to go and be successful somewhere else.”

Lucy’s commentary This is a classic line taken by people who do a lot of firing. It involves barefaced lying (“we like everything you’ve done”) and superhuman levels of delusion. So long as the person with the axe pretends they are furthering the interests of the person they are firing, they can do so without suffering the tiniest twinge of guilt.
